hello@anxieralabs.comBiography
James Miller founded Anxiera Labs, Inc. in 2011 in a small rented laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company was set up around a single narrow question: botanical extracts lose the compounds they were isolated for once they sit in water, so how should a plant-derived preparation be packaged if it is meant to be used fresh?
For most of the following decade the work stayed at the bench. The approach that emerged was not a new molecule but a new format for a known one — the active botanical isolate kept dry and dormant, the liquid kept separate, and the two combined by the customer on the day they begin using the kit.
Before scaling production, Miller ran a year-long feedback programme with a small group of customers. Their notes changed the dose scale, the activation step and the label. Manufacturing of the finished Anxiera 2-Step Botanical Mist Kit began in July 2025.
Miller writes about botanical chemistry, product transparency and supplement labelling for the company's Journal. He is consistent in public about what the category is and is not: Anxiera is a dietary supplement, not a drug, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
